Dear Ms. Lauren Bogle,

My name is Eric Howard and I am a recipient of your generous donation to The Bogle Agency Creative Scholarship for the 2020-2021 academic year. I am originally from Williamstown, KY and moved to Dallas, TX seven years go. I married a little over 3 years ago and began my path to completing a bachelor's degree in Plant and Soil Science at Texas Tech. I quickly complete my associate degree locally in Dallas at Brookhaven College prior to transferring to Texas Tech in the Fall of 2018.

I am a Senior at Texas Tech University and this Fall semester will be my last as an undergraduate. After hard work and dedication, I will be graduating in December of this year. The best part of attending Texas Tech is that I can complete this degree online while living in Dallas, TX. I currently work full-time as a Plant Healthcare Specialist for a small locally owned business in Arlington, TX. Prior to this, I spent almost 15 years in corporate procurement and was very unhappy until my passion for plants was revived when I moved to Texas.

My decision to major in Horticulture was something that I thought long and hard about, as I have tried many different science related majors, but never found a subject that I truly connected with as much as I do with plants. With my new career path in plant healthcare, my next step is to complete the examination to become an ISA Certified Arborist.

I am very grateful to receive this assistance as I will not receive any student loans during this academic year. In addition to this scholarship I also receive the Dub, Liz & Dr. Dennis Wollard Family Scholarship based on my academic performance. With these scholarships combined, my financial burden has decreased so that I can focus on my studied.

Again, thank you for providing the funds to this scholarship. It is truly appreciated on many levels.

Best regards,

Eric Howard

Class of 2020
